  • Question: Someone asked about any appearances of the I Heart Fashion Venus doll in the US. I live in Northern Indiana and just last Tuesday our Toys R Us was stocked with several of them. I don't recall seeing Cleo and all the Wydowna's were gone as she was the only one on sale that week. - misanthropic-bunny

Thank you for this information, I know I received this message a few days ago, but obviously this is important information to share with the community!

I finally sat down and made my way through the entire Doll Directory section. All pages are updated up through Fall 2014, and everything links back to the assortment/release they came from. I also refreshed a few other releases with better quality pictures. As always feel free to let me know about any better quality pictures, or any errors you see on the site, I’ll gladly update images and fix the problems!

I also added Spring 2015 info to the Seasons page (previously it was only listed on the Timeline page), as I keep getting the same questions about Spring lines.

Also to my followers who send me questions: I’m less likely to answer questions submitted anonymously, as I only post answers to questions that I feel will provide information that isn’t already out there. If you haven’t seen your anon questions answered on the blog - it’s likely because I feel I’ve already answered that question, or provided that information at some point on this blog (I get anon asks about Alternate Channel / Emerging Channel releases a lot). I will gladly re-answer any questions - but to avoid cluttering this archive, I’d rather answer directly to the submitter.

I <3 Fashion Venus has hit the US.

My seller on Ebay (who I believe is from California) found ILF Venus at her Toys R Us. No Cleos yet.

  • Question: Do you happen to know if there's a release timeframe for the Haunted line? I did some researching but couldn't find any info; then again, I don't have the resources you seem to! :) - Anonymous

Haunted is part of Spring 2015. The Spring lines start to show up as early as October and are usually in full distribution by the Spring season. Same thing for Fall - which starts to show up in Summer, and are fully out by Fall. It’s a little confusing - but just remember that each season’s dolls actually start showing up in stores in the actual season before them. Fall dolls in Summer, Spring dolls in Winter. Typically the mainline dolls hit first, and the exclusives show up throughout and more-so by the end.

What about UK release dates? Any ideas as to where I can find such information?

In theory, it’s not going to be anything drastically far off - it just depends on how international distribution unfolds. The UK, Cananda, Mexico and Australia have all gotten some releases weeks to maybe months before the US in the past.

  • Question: Hello, do you know if the Dawn of the Dance re release is real or not real? - Anonymous
  • Answer:

Yes they are real. They’re ASDA exclusive in the UK, which usually means WalMart in the US. Current rumor/theory is that they are this year’s Walmart $10 Black Friday doll.

Answer
  • Question: What are all the Kmart exclusives that are out right now? - Anonymous
  • Answer:

You can see the current seasons exclusives by visiting my Seasons page.

K-Mart’s only exclusive is/was Ghoul Chat - but Toot’s Toy’s (an independent retailer who has access to ordering mainline & alt-channel exclusives) was able to order them direct from Mattel - so who knows.

K-Mart also carries most of the Alt-Channel releases, as they have Doll + Accessories and the Draculocker currently - and will likely have Coffin Bean Wave 2 as well.

  • Question: Someone told me that they found Casta at a TRU, I thought she was a walmart exclusive? - Anonymous
  • Answer:

She’s not an exclusive at all. She’s like Catty - a special timed release, but without a hard-release date like Catty had. Walmart just seemed to have gotten Casta in first (although Target has her in that special display at some stores).

It seems to be a sale of Spring 2014 lines, so far only on MattelShop.com.

  • Question: I recently found the Coffin Bean Assortment Wave 2 at a justice store at the mall I go to but I'm not sure if they will be exclusive to that store. I have a big feeling they will be though. Just wanted to let you know since your post of them says they haven't been released in stores yet, hope this helps. I love your blog the organization in beautiful. - neolani333
  • Answer:

Coffin Bean is an Alt Channel line, which is why small stores like Justice are able to order it. Their exclusive is the Swim Line. Coffin Bean can be found at independent retailers, grocery stores, and other non-major chains like Kohls, Meijers, and even Frys Electronics.
